Remote Digital GI Pathologist

Olympia Multi-specialty Clinic
Full-time
On-site
Washington

We are a GI group with our own ASC where we perform routine endoscopies. We have had a histology laboratory for 17 years, with 2 full time technicians, and a pathologist for the last 11 years. We now have an opening for the pathologist position. We generate 1200 specimens a month. We post the position as full time, and benefits are included. However, In most circumstances the pathologist finishes reading slides

You will also function as the Lab Director and review policies, quality issues etc, and work with the Medical Director of the Clinic and participate in our clinic's monthly Quality meeting. The clinic also includes cardiology, neurology, a sleep center, and a cardiology imaging center.

Our gastroenterologists are very quality oriented and work closely with our pathologist. We follow all GI society guidelines for endoscopic mucosal sampling and the GI providers meet regularly to review quality and adherence to established guidelines. The pathologist office is immediately adjacent to the histology lab and in the same location as our gastroenterologist's offices allowing easy collaboration and discussion. You will find that our goal is to provide the pathologist with all of the clinical information as well as appropriate specimens needed to allow accurate interpretations.

If you are looking for a position that is well compensated but not high volume and stressful, this is the job for you. If you are looking to slow down a bit prior to retirement this is ideal as well. In addition, we are exploring the option of remote digital pathology.
