Position Purpose:
The Clinical Nurse Manager, under the direction of the Nurse Manager or Department Director, plans, organizes, staffs and directs patient care on a daily operational basis in accordance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act. Functions within the standards, policies, procedures and guidelines of the Organization.
This leadership position supports both the Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Unit and the Surgical Intermediate Care Unit at Mount Carmel East. Will be primarily working day shift but may be needed to cover evening shifts as needed.
The Surgical/Trauma Intensive Care Unit (STICU) at Mount Carmel East has 14 beds. The Registered Nurse (RN) would expect to see the highest acuity surgical and trauma patients in the health system while working on this unit. Mount Carmel East is the only level 2 trauma center in the Mount Carmel system.
The Surgical Intermediate Care Unit (SIMCU) at Mount Carmel East is 32 beds. The Registered Nurse (RN) would expect to see a mixture of post-surgical and trauma patients. This unit is great experience for new graduate RNs wanting to learn skills and/or see a wide variety of patient population. It can also make a great transition for those interested in the OR/PACU. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 4:1.
