Qualifications Required Education:
  • Associate degree in nursing.
  • HBOT course completion within six (6) months post-hire.
Preferred Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing.
  • HBOT course completion pre-hire.
Required Experience:
  • One (1) year of registered nursing experience in an acute care or criticalcare setting.
Preferred Experience:
  • Two (2) or more years of registered nursing experience.
Required Certification/License/Registry:
  • Licensed as an RN in accordance with Florida Statutes, Title XXXII(Regulation of Professions and Occupations), Chapter 464 (Nursing), Part I(Nursing Practice Act).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification from an accredited American Heart Association (AHA) instructor.
  • Certified Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT) and/or Certified Hyperbaric Registered Nurse (CHRN) credential(s) within eighteen(18) months post-hire.
Required Certification/License/Registry:
  • CHT and/or CHRN credential(s) pre-hire.
Responsibilities Your Role:
  • Is fundamental in achieving recognized world-class health care.
  • Is directly and indirectly responsible for the patient care environment.
  • Is responsible for providing high-quality, courteous, safe, and efficient patient care by collaborating with health care team members and autonomously applying the nursing process.
  • Coordinates and delegates care in a safe, secure, and clean environment.
  • Leads, mentors, and role models for other health care team members.
  • Respects patients' rights, dignity, values, confidentiality, and expressed needs.
  • Uses evidence-based practices and information technologies while focusing on providing comfort, relieving pain, and alleviating anxiety.
  • Administers hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) to patients as prescribed by a hyperbaric physician.
  • Ensures all required documentation is completed for patient charts and chamber maintenance.
  • Is responsible for safe hyperbaric chambers' operations and maintenance.
  • Assesses materials appropriate for use in and around hyperbaric chambers.
  • Splits responsibilities between HBOT (60%) and general wound care (40%).
