Codman Academy Charter Public School is seeking a School Psychologist to support the academic, social-emotional, and behavioral development of all students. The ideal candidate will provide psychological assessments, counseling services, and behavioral interventions while working collaboratively with educators, families, and support staff. This role plays a critical part in fostering a student-centered learning environment that aligns with EL Education principles.
Conduct psychological and educational assessments for students attending Codman Academy.
Interpret assessment data to identify learning, emotional, and behavioral needs.
Develop comprehensive and informative reports that include appropriate educational goals and recommendations.
Participate actively in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and 504 Plan meetings to develop tailored interventions and accommodations.
Provide teachers and staff with consultation on student learning strategies, behavioral interventions, and mental health supports to enhance student success.
Conduct classroom screenings and observations to assist educators in designing effective instructional strategies.
Serve as a member of the Student Support Team (SST), collaborating with administrators, special education staff, and families to provide wraparound support.
Provide individual and small-group counseling for students facing social-emotional, behavioral, or mental health challenges.
Implement research-based interventions to support students' executive functioning, social skills, and emotional regulation.
Assist in the development and implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) within the school community.
Serve as a key member of the crisis intervention team, providing immediate support for students in distress.
Develop and implement school-wide mental health and wellness initiatives to promote a positive school climate.
Offer preventative programming focused on social-emotional learning, resilience-building, and conflict resolution.
Work collaboratively with families to provide guidance, resources, and referrals for mental health, special education, and community-based supports.
Engage in school-wide initiatives and professional development opportunities that align with Codman Academy’s EL Education curriculum.
Advocate for student needs by maintaining strong communication with teachers, administrators, and external support agencies.
Licensed as a School Psychologist by the Massachusetts Department of Education.
Demonstrated competency in psychological and educational assessments, behavioral analysis, and intervention strategies.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write clear and effective reports.
Knowledge of IEP and 504 Plan processes and ability to contribute meaningfully to special education services.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor to support student well-being and academic success.
Experience working in an urban school setting, providing educational and psychological services.
Licensure as a Licensed Educational Psychologist (LEP).
Multilingual proficiency, particularly in Spanish, Cape Verdean Creole, Haitian Creole, Chinese, Vietnamese, Portuguese, or Somali.
Experience supporting students with disabilities and English Language Learners (ELLs).
