Part Time and As needed (PRN) Laguna Honda Hospital and Rehabilitation Center (LHH), located on 62 acres of parkland west of Twin Peaks, is one of the largest skilled nursing facilities in the country. It is San Francisco's flagship rehabilitation, post-acute care, short stay, and long-term facility. It currently houses 535 residents. Laguna Honda is a warm and welcoming environment for residents and staff, with a diverse array of resident activities and supports in place. As part of the San Francisco Health Network, Laguna Honda is collaborating extensively with multiple public health entities within the Department of Public Health, including Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, SFHN primary care, SF Jail Health Services, Whole Person Integrated Care, and SF DPH Department of Behavioral Health.
Under general direction of the Laguna Honda Medical Director for clinical coverage, 2232 LHH Senior Physician Specialists perform the following essential duties:
- Performs essential duties of a physician specialist to LHH residents
- Collaborates with other disciplines in the care of patients at the health center
- Covers for fellow physicians as needed
- Supervises staff as needed
- Assists in coordinating recruitment, training and staff development activities
- Covers night and weekend call shifts through an active scheduling collaboration with the leadership of the medical staff
- Maintains collaboration with specialists and community partners
- Maintains a high degree of professionalism
- Completes all required trainings and in-services
- Maintains CA license, NPI, and DEA in good standing
- Serves as a Disaster Service worker
Qualifications
- Valid current licensure through the Medical Board of California or the Osteopathic Medical Board of California
- Possession of valid Board Certification or Board Eligibility in the appropriate medical specialty area for the assigned facility or division
- Possession of valid Drug Enforcement Agency registration with the United States Department of Justice
Applicants possessing a valid license to practice medicine issued from another state within the United States of America may apply, but if selected, the candidate will NOT be appointed/hired until they obtain a valid license to practice medicine issued by the Medical Board of California or the Osteopathic Medical Board of California.
