Position Overview:
Lead pharmaceutical operations at a Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (CMOP) facility, ensuring accurate dispensing of medications and supplies to veterans. Uphold strict compliance while managing high-volume mail-order pharmacy workflows. All selected personnel will meet strict federal, state, and contract requirements, ensuring exceptional service and compliance with policiesΒ and procedures.

Qualifications:
- Education: PharmD from an ACPE-accredited institution
- Licensure:
- Active TN Pharmacist License
- Controlled Substances Authorization
- VetPro Certification (post-hire)
- Experience:
- High-volume regulated pharmacy environment
- QA/Compliance oversight
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other clerical/computer tasks
- Automated dispensing systems
- Controlled substance verification
- Soft Skills:
- Able to meet all physical requirements of the position
- Demonstrated ability to work in a regulated, high-volume environment
- Strong attention to detail and understanding of policies
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify pharmaceutical orders for legend drugs, OTC medications, Med/Surg supplies, and Controlled Substances (Schedules III-V).
- Assess prescriptions and ensure proper match with medication at checking stations.
- Pre-verify medications loaded into automated dispensing systems.
- Fill and verify orders for controlled substances.
- Perform Quality Assurance and oversee contracted Pharmacy Technicians.
- Follow all VA and CMOP documentation protocols and reporting standards.
- Identify and report unusual doses, incorrect drugs/strengths, or drug mix-ups.
- Comply with all precautions related to hazardous materials and waste handling.
- Provide thorough checking, labelling, and QA guidance based on VHA handbooks and CMOP training
- Dispense medications per corporate and regulatory guidelines.
