Surgery - Neurosurgery Physician Assistant

We are seeking an experienced Neurosurgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a full-time locum tenens assignment. This role supports two neurosurgeons with inpatient, outpatient, surgical, and on-call coverage at a Level II Trauma and Level III PEDS facility.

• First assist in neurosurgical procedures (craniotomy, spinal fusion, aneurysm interventions, etc.)
• Independent rounding across hospital units including NICU, PICU, ICU, and Med/Surg
• Respond to hospital and ER consultations
• Conduct outpatient consultations, post-op follow-ups, and ongoing patient care
• Manage patient calls, refill requests, FMLA forms, and medication orders
• Call rotation: 1 in 3 weekdays/weekends (beeper, 20-min response time)
• Handle patients/day in clinic (Mon Fri, 8 AM 5 PM)
• Surgical first assist
• Bedside procedures
• Familiarity with craniotomy, decompressive surgeries, and spinal interventions
• Experience with both adult and pediatric neurosurgical cases preferred
• Monday Friday, 8 AM 5 PM
• Optional 12-hour shifts available
• Call schedule: 1:3 weekday/weekend
• Call Type: Beeper
