Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Oncologist capable of managing a broad spectrum of benign and malignant conditions including gastric, colorectal, sarcoma, cutaneous malignancies, and endocrine tumors. The ideal candidate should be comfortable performing a variety of general surgical procedures as needed. While experience or a strong interest in hepatobiliary surgery is considered an asset, it is not a requirement for this position. This role demands a commitment to comprehensive cancer care, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and a focus on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care at a tertiary referral center.
Key Responsibilities:
Surgical Care:
- Perform oncologic surgeries for a wide range of cancers, including colorectal, gastric, sarcomas, cutaneous malignancies, and endocrine tumor
- Develop individualized surgical plans tailored to patient needs, utilizing both general and specialized oncologic techniques
- Provide general surgical support as necessary to meet patient and practice demands.
Patient Management:
- Conduct thorough pre-operative evaluations including detailed histories, physical exams, and review of diagnostic imaging and tests
- Manage post-operative care, focusing on complication management, recovery optimization, and patient education regarding cancer treatment and prevention.
- Collaborate closely with medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, gastroenterologists, and other specialists to ensure coordinated multidisciplinary care.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Serve as an integral member of a multidisciplinary team including oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, and nursing staff to deliver cohesive patient care.
- Effectively communicate with patients and families about diagnoses, treatment options, surgical procedures, and expected outcomes.
- Participate in weekly multidisciplinary tumor board meetings to discuss cases and treatment plans.
Clinical and Academic Contributions:
- Engage in clinical trials aimed at advancing surgical oncology techniques and improving patient outcomes.
- Participate in teaching and mentoring surgical oncology fellows, residents, and advanced practice providers to support ongoing education and development in cancer care.

- Patient Age Range: 80% Adult, 20% Geriatric
- Required Training: General Surgery Residency and Oncology Fellowship
- Board Eligibility or Certification Required
