Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacist to join our team at Asembia. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. Position: Staff Pharmacist 

Department: Pharmacy/HUB Programs 

Reports To: Sr. Director of Pharmacy Operations 

FLSA:  Exempt 


Primary Function: The incumbent is responsible for developing and managing the clinical component of manufacturer programs.

Job Scope and Major Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate incoming referrals for accuracy and completeness.  When necessary, communicate with prescribers for accurate data verification of prescription information.
  • Receive and send referral transfers between pharmacies.
  • Counsel patients regarding the use of medications, side effects, and potential drug-drug interactions.
  • Record and document medication errors through internal mechanisms with a corresponding responsibility to report adverse events to manufacturers or reporting agencies
  • Review, manage, and update staff on pertinent clinical information where necessary.
  • Assist other teams or programs in a clinical or administrative role as necessary.
  • Answer, as needed, all inbound/outbound clinical calls from patients and/or prescribers.
  • Escalate employee concerns to management where applicable.
  • Support day-to-day operations for all programs.
  • Assist the Clinical Directors and Team Leads on improving quality and efficiency for ASPN Pharmacy employees.
  • Act cooperatively and responsibly with patients, visitors, co-workers, management, and clients.
  • Always maintain a professional demeanor.
  • Participate in team building and training exercises for call center employees.
  • Serve as a quality improvement coordinator when sanctioned by the Quality Oversight Committee.
  • Assist other pharmacists, Clinical Directors, or other members of management where needed.
  • Assist building management and maintain and enforcing building rules and regulations.
  • Compliance with the provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 and its implementing regulations, as amended (“HIPAA”)

Required Qualifications: 

  • MANDATORY: Current, unrestricted Pharmacist license in at least two of the below states and 1 of the following- New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Nevada, or Arizona.
  • California
  • Idaho
  • Montana – clinical RPh
  • North Dakota
  • Utah
  • Vermont
  • Washington
  • Wisconsin
  • Minimum 2+ year’s pharmacy experience.
  • Individual must possess exemplary communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Knowledge or willingness to learn ASPN network capabilities, pharmacy operations, products, benefits, and terminology are required.
  • Immunization certification or are willingness to obtain one.
