Urgent Care Physician Assistant

Coverage Need Details:-

• 11 providers with urgent care or emergency medicine experience to cover Mon-Sun 8a-8p. Looking for FT 12+ shifts per month or PT 6+ shifts per month
• providers will travel between this site, Belle Vernon, Dunbar and Mt Pleasant - sites are no more than 30mi apart
• Provider must be willing to work independently (no supervision)
• NPDB self query MUST be submitted with presentation to be considered
• Must list when submitting presentations whether your provider is comfortable or not comfortable with the below:

o Suturing/Wound Care/I&Ds:

o Splinting:

o X-Rays/EKGs:

o Drawing Blood/IVs:

o Working Independently:

o Pediatrics:

Requirements Notes:-

• Must have a min of 2yrs of experience in urgent care or 1yr of experience in emergency medicine
• Must be comfortable seeing patients of all ages
• Must be comfortable with orthopedic procedures (splinting) and wound care
• Min availability to be considered: 3 shifts per month consistently
• If ABEM 1yr of experience
• If ABFM or ABIM 2yrs of experience in emergency medicine or urgent care.
• medical assistants and rad techs onsite
• AVG patient volume: 3-4 patients per hour
• Sites will be staffed with 1-3 providers per day. If a physician is not on site, a physician will be remotely available for escalation

Candidates Typical Day:-

Provider will see patients with cold/flu symptoms, rashes, abrasions, lacerations, sprains, minor burns, they may do splints, Xrays/EKGs, drawing blood and I&Ds. Typical Urgent Care assignment, anything high acuity will get referred to the local ER
