Summa Health is seeking board certified/board eligible Ophthalmologists to join our employed physician group. Our recruitment priority is a General/Comprehensive provider. The selected candidate will become a member of Summa Health Medical Group, a multi-specialty group practice of 400+ physicians employed by the Summa Health System. At Summa Health, we offer high quality ophthalmic medical and surgical care to meet the community s needs. We pride ourselves on offering comprehensive care, but in an intimate and personalized setting. Our Ophthalmology Clinic is located at our main campus in Akron, 75 Arch Street.

Options for Scheduling: These schedule options below can be modified to fit your professional goals. Please inform recruitment of which schedule option you are interested in.

Schedule 1 Clinic / Surgery Schedule:

  • Ophthalmology Clinic at Akron location
    • No Call
    • Outpatient volumes 25-30/day
    • Will be in surgeries during clinic week (1 to 2 times/week)
    • Surgery days volume dependent Surgery centers are located at Akron and Medina

Schedule 2 Call Only Schedule:

  • Takes call for Trauma and Inpatient Hospital Consults
  • 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off

Candidate Requirements

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Ophthalmology
  • Unrestricted Ohio License or willingness to obtain
  • Commitment to quality care in a patient centered, team-based environment
