Pay: $149/day – District Substitute Nurse | $44.34/hour – Extended Day Nurse

Watertown Public Schools is seeking Massachusetts Registered Nurses for several nursing opportunities across the district for the 2026–2027 school year.

Provide nursing coverage across WPS schools when school nurses are absent. Responsibilities include emergency care, medication administration, supporting students with complex medical needs, maintaining health records, and communicating with families and healthcare providers. This is an as-needed position with no guaranteed hours.

Provide nursing support to students in PreK–Grade 5 during our Extended Day Programs at Cunniff, Hosmer, and Lowell Elementary Schools. Schedule is a minimum of 3 days/week, 2:15–6:00 PM, with preference for 5 days/week. Additional hours are available on early release days.

Provide as-needed nursing coverage for our Extended Day Programs. Shifts are generally 2:30–6:00 PM on regular school days and 12:00–6:00 PM on early release days. There is no guarantee of shifts or hours.

Qualifications:

• Current Massachusetts RN license
• CPR/First Aid certification
• Pediatric or school nursing experience preferred
• Experience with student health plans, medication administration, and Type 1 Diabetes care preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
